VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Childcare Volunteer: Offer direct supervision of children of all ages who have experienced trauma in our drop-in childcare center. At times assist the full-time childcare specialist, and at times relieve the specialist (i.e. lunch breaks, sick days). Prior childcare experience preferred, including CPR and first aid training. Ability to volunteer with limited notice (when childcare provider is out sick) preferred. Additional background checks may be required. 

    • Time Requirements: This position requires a minimum commitment of 4 consecutive hours per week within PorchLight hours of operation.

  • Community Outreach & Events Volunteer:

    • Resource Table - Represent PorchLight at community events to promote awareness of available services. Commitment is dependent on the event schedule.

    • Events –  Assist at PorchLight events with set up, silent auction, spirit pull, and clean up (annual benefit, anniversary open house). Commitment is for PorchLight’s annual benefit on September 19, 2024 at the Buffalo Rose in Golden, CO. PorchLight’s anniversary is on February 25th. 

    • Time Requirements: Varied, may include business hours, weekends, and evenings. 

  • Development Volunteer:

    • Attend monthly Funding and Community Engagement meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, keep minutes, and provide other administrative assistance to the Development Manager. The commitment required is 4 hours per week.

    •  Assist the Development Manager with donor follow-up phone calls, thank you cards, data entry, and other donor engagement opportunities. The commitment required is 2 hours per week.

    • Assist the Development Manager with community engagement (social media, graphic design, flyers, brochures). The commitment required is 2 hours per week.

    • Time Requirements: The hours required vary, and mostly occur within PorchLight hours of operation.  

  • Phone Navigation Volunteer: Provide direct support to PorchLight callers. Will include crisis intervention, knowledge of partner agency eligibility/availability, and connection process. Additional extensive on-site training is required for this position. Training will also include shadowing partners to learn what services their agency provides. 

    • Time Requirements: Varied between 4-20 hours per week, within PorchLight hours of operation.

  • Needs Nook Coordination VolunteerCoordinate inventory of items in the PorchLight onsite Needs Nook by working with partner agencies to re-stock when items are low. This position includes connecting with current partner agencies and branching out to identify new partner agencies to provide items for guests (i.e. fresh fruit and other fresh food items). This position will pick up items from partners, refill and organize the storage room, and take calls from community members with inquiries about donating items. Commitment to ensure the Needs Nook is stocked weekly.

    • Time Requirements: Varied to maintain weekly restocking. During PorchLight hours of operation. 

  • Data Specialist VolunteerCollect and organize data surrounding the victimizations PorchLight serves to inform the beginning of an impact report project. Will work with the District Attorney’s Office, Law Enforcement Crime Analysts, and the Colorado Fatality Review Committee surrounding the data requests. Data will include results from court, recidivism, and homicides.

    • Time RequirementsCommitment of a minimum 4 hours per week, during PorchLight hours of operation. 

  • Salon Coordination VolunteerConnect with current stylist volunteers and guests to schedule guest salon appointments at PorchLight. This position will be the liaison between the guest and the stylist and in most cases directly connect the guest with the stylist. Commitment to ensure guest/stylist connections are made regularly once a request is received.

    • Time RequirementsCommitment varies to ensure guest/stylist connections are made regularly once a request is received, during hours of operation. 

  • Hair Stylist VolunteerVolunteer time, talent, and product to provide professional styling services to Guests in the PorchLight salon. This includes haircuts, color, highlights, lowlights, braiding, etc. Experience with various types of hair is helpful.

    • Time RequirementsMinimum commitment of 4 appointments per year (1x per quarter).

  • Wellness CoordinatorResearch and plan wellness activities for on-site partners and staff that help support or mitigate secondary trauma such as yoga, arts, and crafts, animal support, and other creative opportunities to support overall wellness.

    • Time RequirementsCoordinate and execute 1 wellness activity per month

  • Volontario per la cura degli ospiti:Lavorando a stretto contatto con il personale FJC, un volontario per l'assistenza agli ospiti lavorerà direttamente con gli ospiti e potrà assistere con i seguenti compiti: assistere l'addetto alla reception con la risposta ai telefoni, il saluto agli ospiti in arrivo e la soddisfazione delle esigenze degli ospiti; assistere il personale di assunzione; gestire la Family Lounge, accompagnare gli ospiti attraverso la struttura e agli appuntamenti quando opportuno; supporto generale dell'ufficio

  • Volontario cameretta bambini:I giovani e i volontari per l'infanzia assisteranno il personale e gli ospiti dell'FJC monitorando l'area della sala giochi per bambini e assistendo nelle attività dei bambini.

  • Volontario amministrativo:Lavorando sotto la supervisione del personale dell'FJC, i Volontari Amministrativi forniranno supporto amministrativo all'FJC.

  • Volontario per progetti speciali/sensibilizzazione:Lavorando sotto la supervisione del personale FJC, i Volontari per progetti speciali/sensibilizzazione forniranno supporto in specifiche aree di bisogno.

  • Volontario di assunzione:Lavorando sotto la supervisione del personale FJC, Intake Volunteers fornirà supporto nella valutazione dei bisogni e fornendo un'atmosfera confortevole.

  • Posizioni aggiuntive: Raccolta fondi, pianificazione eventi, paesaggistica e autista della navetta!
